I think I should maybe first begin with the name…

After many tries with several “use your own name to generate a SW name” tricks, I realized that neither my first nor last name put together, in whichever way, were giving any good result. So I browsed a little through “suggested names” lists and various other stuff, took a few notes, and tried to decide on something. This may however still change, but I’m going to stay with it for the moment… it at least gives me the feeling that I’m up to something, and am working on a basis, even if a small one.

So, I’m staying with Keth Dryden for the time being. Not sure, also, if this will be her (yes, it’s gonna be a her) true name. Matt however remarked that it could lead to some confusion with ‘Keith’, though the two names don’t sound the same (or maybe my perception is flawed, due to my awful French accent), so maybe I can consider “Keth” is a diminutive of some sort; of something like “Kethia” or ‘Kethri” maybe, I’ll still have to think about it.

Now why Keth, or Kethri… don’t know. It’s a name I like a lot. I don’t want to use ‘Kerydwenn’ again, for it really doesn’t sound like a SWish name at all. But I like the sound of “Kethri” a lot (I’m pretty sure the name comes from a book, but the hell if I can remember which one…). It’s also the name I gave to my char in a Sci-Fi game created by my boyfriend, set in Frank Herbert’s universe, and as I like the char a lot… I think the name’s just sticking in my mind. But I’d prefer not using ‘Kethri’ directly, so ‘Keth’ sounds good to me.
